A major milestone birthday was just around the corner and I was asked by my husband what I would like for my birthday present. I thanked him and told him what I’d like and was very happy. On the morning of my birthday, my husband presented me not only with my bike, but with the most romantic present ever! He remembered 2 years earlier when I mentioned I loved John Lennon’s song called Woman. He showed me he cared and how much I meant to him by photocopying the song and then having it framed and presenting it to me. I was so touched and cried a lot of happy tears. The song now hangs above my desk and I see it all the time.
The importance of showing how much a person means to you and being “on the same page” can never be underestimated and yet this can sometimes be hard to do. An awesome start to get the ideas flowing is to have a look at the 5 Love Languages (originally written by Dr Gary Chapman) and find out what your family, kids or partners main love languages are. The 5 main love languages are: Words of affirmation, Physical touch, Receiving gifts, Quality time and Acts of service.
